- To use appliances(ie: computers) you need more than just an electrical convertor. You also need a 3 prong travel adapter (http://www.travel-adapter.net/products/Universal-to-US-Plug-Adapter-WAS-5.htm)
- If you wish to buy cigarettes, you will most likely have to go to a bar since the newspaper stands on the street don't carry them.
- Never schedule more than one walking tour on the same day. Chances are that the tour will go longer than quoted time.
- If you ride the bus - STAMP YOUR TICKET(read Amber's post for more details)
- Make sure to stetch in the morning before walking. Your feet as well as the rest of your body will thank you for it later.
- Need medicine? Look for a green cross to find a pharmacy!
- When you flush the toilet, use both buttons to flush
- When riding a bullet train in Europe, you should:
- Arrive about an hour early.
- Locate your train on the departure board via the train's NUMBER not your city. In many cases the train makes multiple stops, thus the city that is diplayed may be its final destination.
- Try to get on compartment as soon as possible, especially if you have a large piece of luggage. Doing so will allow you to store your luggage at the back of that car for free!
- Be respectful of your neighbors. While in second class, you will more than likely be sitting in a group of four.
- Know that the bathroom is located in the space between the two cars.
